I called Robin Williams...
Apparently I called Robin Williams when I was making calls at the Victory Center (pictured below). I knew he was a registered Democrat, but I didn't know he was living in Marion County, WV.

Thanks so much!
Thank you to whoever it is reading these blogs! Today we are at exactly 1000 views and they can't ALL be from my parents...haha. I hope to entertain you or to intrigue you or to just keep you updated and let you know how I am and what it is like to be a proud Mountaineer! Sometimes it is really tough, but I love this campus and I wouldn't change it for all of the friends in the world. I know when I come home I have plenty waiting for me. Love you, guys. Start commenting on my shiznit, though. Ask me some questions you'd like me to answer, serious or comedic, to keep this blog flowing. Now that I have a routine, I'd hate to bore you with the same ol' weekly details!!!

Prayer for my Mother
My mommy went into surgery. Her white blood cell count is insanely high and her infection is worse than last time. I feel hopeless and I just want to be with her. I love her so much and I just want everyone to pray for her. EVERYONE.
Dear God,
I know that sometimes You and I disagree and don't get along, but I still trust in You and believe in You. There are many times I need guidance because I sin and many times I need guidance because I am confused, but this time I need guidance because this is the worst pain I have ever felt. Hopelessness. True hopelessness. Not hopelessness caused by a silly boyfriend or some selfish feeling, but hopelessness because I can't be with my mother and I can't help her. And, if I were there, I would be just as hopeless as I am now. All I can do is ask You to forgive me when I stray from my faith and to please take care of her pain and her infection. I have this sick feeling in my stomach and I know it is sinful doubt, a turning feeling suggesting that maybe You aren't listening. I have to believe You are there! I am so scared and I can't imagine how frightened my mom really is. Please sit with her because I cannot. Hold her hand and comfort her where I cannot. Let her know she is loved and not alone. When I think of the smell and feeling of where she is, only the worst enters my mind. Don't let this pessimism haunt her like it does me. Please, just let everything work out!
Amen.

Art Work
I wrote this poem on a napkin while I was at work today (Sunday).
In Hopes
by Ashley DeNardo
I croon lovelessly
In hopes that you'll see who I am
Writing hopeless words
On forever napkins
In hopes they might catch the wind
And fly their wings to your ear
You'd think you were invisible
Or that I were too busy
But I don't want to see these words
Ripped into a million pieces
of a dream that I can never have
So I write them down and close my mouth
Family Fall Weekend
It's been a while! I've been hella busy!
Wednesday was the amazing 2012 Presidential debate. I hope everyone watched it and will be watching Biden take on Paul Ryan! It should be just as entertaining. Between Wednesday and Friday, I earned a Romney hat and shirt and am the top Victory caller in the state! I have made over 3200 calls, more than 800 last week. Finally, my mom got to the Victory Center on Friday to pick me up. She got to see where I am interning so that was cool. We walked down the main strip here downtown, ate some pizza, walked across the bridge, and saw all the shops. Then, I got me some Smirnoff and lotto tickets and went back to the campground. I woke up bright and early for breakfast and then fell right back asleep until 10. I was so happy someone had covered my shift for me! The next day, when we finally were situated, we had lunch where I work - at Boreman Bistro. It was nice, I love that place. My brothers ate SO much ice cream and everything, really. We spent a long time at Wal-Mart and I bought a pillow, a rug, and a bunch of other stuff. At the rec center later, we played racquetball, the boys climbed the rock wall, and we all went swimming. WVupallnight was supposed to be really fun, but the caricature artist blew it off and I was pissed because I was so excited about. Me and my brothers played the big size Alien Autopsy game, Jenga made from 3x2s, and humungous Connect Four, among other carnival games. We got balloon hats made and messed around in the picture booth. We ate the free nachos, corn dogs, and apples and caramel that was provided free of charge and watched the square dance. I really wanted to do it, but no one would go with me. Later, we played in the arcade. There is LORD OF THE RINGS PINBALL! I can't wait to waste all my money down there playing it. We won a free game of billiards by getting tickets playing skee ball. Then, it was like 1am and we had breakfast, also free. The Mountaineers had won their game against Texas and we heard that fires were breaking out on Grant Street and there was a big riot. At around 2am, I finally got back to my room and we parted ways as they went back to the campground. Unfortunately, I had to work today (Sunday) from 9am until 3:30pm.We were going to the mall, but I forgot it was Sunday so it was closed. My mom and I went to Dollar General, ate dinner, hung out at my place for a little bit, and then she went to the campsite. I spent so much money this weekend! >.<
I'll see everyone for a little while tomorrow before they have to leave and I am all alone again.
