Thanksgiving Break

Well the weekend my mommy came and got me, she brought my Mom Mom Bear. We went shopping on High Street and made personal, awesome jewelry at Beadmonster! I bought my brother Joe a WV soccer ball, my brother Willie a book with origami paper on how to make really good paper airplanes, and some WV coal in a bottle just to put next to the rose quartz guardian angel I bought my mom. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in Preston County called "Miss Vickie's Guesthouse". A lot of things made our stay interesting, but out of respect I will keep those to myself. Nothing bad by the way! We had a fabulous time. Miss Vickie kept my grandmother occupied and that was a gift in itself. She was welcoming and hospitable, just like you would imagine in West Virginia. She had chickens and fed me beef from her daughter's cows. We were going to stay another night, but we really had to get back so we left and they elders swapped numbers so they could be besties! XD

I got home at like 3am and Kelsey came over at like 10am or something. She was the first person to come hang because she loves me soooooo much! ♥ We went to the brand new Big Lots, then surprised Adam, stole him and his bro, went to McDonald's, took them back, and then visited Matt for a little bit. I wish he could have slept over. Stupid school always getting in the way!! ♥ Regardless, it was a great first day back! Kelsey slept over and we watched old, silly videos that I found in my old files. The next day we went to the high school to FSU. We got kicked out by Mrs. Bailey. People never change. But, the school changed. The personality, unity, and spirit I experienced have been drained. All that is left is a shell of what could have been. This new, strict machine that  was implemented to be helpful and considered an improvement may actually prove detrimental to the education of Williamson High School students in a system that is already broken (NYS). Anyway, the bitch who pretends to have a job told us we could come back at 2:30 and at exactly 2:30 Kelsey and I walk into that school like our shit don’t stink. I got to see a lot of the teachers that I miss. Like Mrs. Moore and Mr. Sherman ♥ I think that is the night Kelsey went home and Adam slept over. I can’t be sure because the days and nights all ran together. He came over to record a radio show with me, but we ended up watching movies instead. I hate when people come over and fall asleep before me because then I want to write something or play a game or record. But that’s always me after midnight. Little miss productive. I wish my classes were at like 1am.

The next day, I saw Kels for a little bit. Then, I went to see my gurl Sadie and her beautiful little Melody! We hung out and it was a pretty chill night. Watched Total Blackout for the first time and loved it. I wish she had more time to hang out. We barely got to see each other. But I know she is busy and I'm just happy we can still stay as close without seeing each other everyday! ♥

The next day, I went to work with my mommy and helped her. She paid me in beads and I made a bunch of jewelry. Then, we went to Guitar Center and I picked up my microphone, a Samson Meteor USB Mic, and I absolutely love it. It sounds SO much better and was a fair price, too. That night, we went shopping with Mom Mom Bear for Thanksgiving groceries. I also bought stuff for guacamole because mine is the best.

Thanksgiving didn't really feel like Thanksgiving. I woke up and had brunch with my Aunt Brandie, Chris,  Mom Mom Bear, momma, Joey, Willie, and Mark and gave my aunt the Batman comic I brought back for her. Then, I fought with Joe because he was being a brat. And, then I found out my mom cooked without me and I really wanted to cook with her because I miss doing that and so I threw a temper tantrum, and then I recorded my Thanksgiving episode of Four Eyes Radio which you can listen to here. Dinner was good, but I left afterwards and went to Kelsey's. Spent some time with their family. Then, we went to Natalie's in the hot tub and talked all night. It was a good girl night. We made some more memorable inside joke moments! (he didn't wrap it!) Then, she slept over again! Hahaha.

The next day I spent time with my brothers and just hung out all day. We left at like 3am or something crazy to go back to Morgantown and my Aunt Brandie came along. So did, surprise!, Joe. He wasn't supposed to come. We were in PA and we were going to eat in some dinghy Waffle House where you find thumbs in your pot pie. We were there to find Joe's hat he left there last time and they were being complete bitched and, thankfully, we left. I did not want that weird food. We had breakfast at Tudor's in Morgantown. We went to the hotel and everyone took a nap. Then, Golden Corral. My brother had been obsessed with the idea of the chocolate fountain and right when he goes up to use it he realizes it had been closed down for the night because it was burning too high! I felt so horrible!!!! That night, we went to Target and my aunt bought me the best pair of sweatpants EVER. Thank you! We all stayed up all night playing Sequence and Spades and the next day came, I was moved back into my dorm after a brief trip to KMart, and they were gone. And I was alone again.

But this time it's only for three weeks. Soon I will be able to say my first semester is done and I survived without a hitch! *knocks on wood*

My first day back at work someone eating recognizes me as I'm putting the cup crate where it goes and he's like "So, are you doing Open Mic Night this Thursday?" Now, when he first opened mouth I thought "What's this clown going to say to piss me off today?" But then he said that and I never even seen him before. It made my day and I had a smile plastered on my face for the next few hours.

This week is going by fast and I'm almost done. I'm hanging in, on, and around. Keep on keepin' on. Off to record some Four Eyes!

Until something interesting happens,

Me.

Just waiting for break (Not Much Going On)

I was sick with the flu and a good friend came to the rescue and went to get meds and soup and such. And then, Monday before elections, I went to a really great rally at the Mon County headquarters and everything seemed awesome and we were filled with hope. It was also the last day I was able to see the people I became so close to over the months here leading up to the elections and it was bittersweet. Then, Tuesday it turned sour for us, but I won't get into that or I will never stop typing! For West Virginia, things weren't as bad. For the first time in 80 years, WV elected a Republican Attorney General, Patrick Morrisey, and got rid of Darrel McGraw. Although many of the races we hoped to sweep up did not go our way, this was a huge step in the RIGHT direction. On election day, I worked for nine hours. I finished out the week with tired eyes and a heavy heart. I worked Friday. Saturday, and Sunday. I worked today (Tuesday). I feel as though I have nothing to look forward to here any longer, now that all the excitement and doing big things is over. So, I am patiently awaiting Thanksgiving break, which is only like 3 days away, yet feels so far off. I am excited to take a break from this new world and recuperate at my home in my room in my futon. Things will get back into full swing soon, but the semester will end even sooner. It's getting close and without a hitch. So far, it looks as if I will survive my first semester of college with good grades, many accomplishments, a great job, and a few sort-of friends. But, most of all with the knowledge that I CAN handle anything and I will handle everything as smoothly as I have been. I will have another blog on Thanksgiving. Honestly, not much has been going on. I'm kind of on idle, sleep-deprived, and driven by a will to be back "where everybody knows my name". :)

PINK FLOYD 2: Another Painting for My Dad

My First Publication...in college, at least.

My poem was accepted into this year's Mountaineer Week Literary Publication, "Voices of Appalachia". Here is a copy of my poem and a link to the online publication (should be available Monday, November 5, 2012)!

I was in the Student category of "Being a Mountaineer"!

Gold and Blue

Williamson was my home.
Everyone was known.
With 100 in my class,
We were close and time went fast.
People I never met knew my name.
I sang my goodbyes at graduation and blew them all away.

For four years, I was Red and White
A few weeks by, and I knew
Maybe it wouldn’t be tonight
But soon I would be Gold and Blue.

I had been counting down the days
Ever since sophomore year
And I really couldn’t believe
That it was finally here!
This week everything would change.
I’d become a Mountaineer!

I’d come from pride.
I was used to unity.
I was very involved
I’d come from just being me.

I camped in Cooper’s Rock
And waited for the day
I’d move my things to a strange new place
Where I would have to stay.

I begged to leave high school,
I whined to leave my house.
All at once I cried
Because I wanted to stick around.

Eventually, my mom left
And I wasn’t scared at all
Welcome Week went by, I was alone
And lo and behold!

I was always in love with WVU
But, suddenly missed my family, too
Still, I’d never trade anything
For good ol’ Gold and Blue.

Crayon Paintings ♥

I bought the supplies from KMart. The first painting is for my poor momma who was in the hospital for surgery and THEN they left a TOWEL inside of her!!!! The last one is a random painting I did with the remaining crayons.

This is the towel they left inside my mother, causing extra weeks of recovery after the reopening of her incision. Now, please tell me if that makes any sense to you. How can a mistake THAT big be made? I understand a small mistake MAYBE but a BLUE TOWEL??????

A BLOG OF MANY BLOGS!!!

Because I have been extremely busy, I have not kept up on this blog this month as I had hoped. I figured I would take this time I have with the flu and just combine an entire month's worth of blogs. I am sure I have forgotten some things as a month seems like a year when you fit a week into every day.

I made this bracelet with Bead Monster at WVUpallnight.
How I celebrated Halloween this year: with a Ghost Hunters marathon, special socks and the flu.

That's how close I was to the stage!!!!!

Then, my camera died. Just to clarify though: I shook Paul Ryan's soft and beautiful hand!!!!
The Friday before all this, I hung out with Republican candidate for Governor of West Virginia, Bill Maloney and the Governor of Kansas, Governor Brownback. The politicians, the College Republicans, and the Victory Center all played football, while me and another girl watched lol.

To end this, I just want to mention Hurricane Sandy. She was a real bitch and I pray for those affected by her. :( Not really a great note to end on, but some people act as if they were short-changed that it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be in their area. Stop complaining that you were safe and blessed to be untouched by the wrath of Sandy and keep those who were in your hearts.
